SHARING OUR STORY FOR 2024
Serving God and Our Neighbors
Through Acts of Kindness
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.“ (Ephesians 2:10)
SHARING OUR STORY
We seek to live Jesus’ command to love God with all our heart, mind and soul, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. We endeavor to demonstrate this commitment in various acts of service locally, regionally, and internationally
Alleviate Human Suffering
Dream Center/Harbor – Providing safe Christian environment for food/shelter and counseling to homeless and trafficked youth in Albuquerque
Habitat for Humanity – Builds community – one home, one family at a time – by making it possible for low-income families to own decent, affordable homes.
Four Corners Native American Ministry – provides services for Native Americans in the Farmington, NM area. These services include building ramps, delivering food, water, and clothing.
UMCOR – United Methodist Committee on Relief responds to natural or civil disasters of such magnitude that they overwhelm a community’s ability to recover on its own. Through UMCOR, United Methodists extend loving care to people within the United States. When disaster strikes, it is local churches that provide the first response to their communities.
Strengthen Christian Communities
McCurdy Ministries in Espanola – is a 100+ year old United Methodist National Mission Center providing after school, preschool, mental health counseling, summer camp, youth programs, adult education, high school equivalency, literacy coaching, parenting, and grand parenting support groups to benefit families of the Espanola Valley
Pastor Vragne Liberus at Eglise Evangelique Bel-Air, Petion Ville, Haiti – Pastor Vragne and his Christian mission provides a church school, an orphanage, food, water, and other basic needs to many displaced Haitians.
Juntos (Together) – Christian community-building and leadership training for children of at-risk-families near San Pedro/ Central Ave neighborhoods
Seek Justice, Freedom, and Peace

Missionaries: Make Disciples of Jesus Christ for the Transformation of the World
The Lighthouse in Brno, Czech Republic – A mission church offering Christian fellowship, Bible study, Youth camp, and English classes to the unchurched. Missionaries Jason and Karensa McFrederick have been serving in the Czech Republic for 16 years. Currently, they have been helping and housing refuges from Ukraine.
Wesley Primary School Morogoro, Tanzania – Among all the schools in Morogoro, Wesley is ranked second best school. For 10 years, the school has been investing in Africa’s future. Their pastors include Ngoy and Umba Kalangwa. This is the second year of Mountainside’s 4 year Covenant Relationship thru 2026 with the Wesley Primary School Mission. This means that we will sponsor 12 vulnerable students through our prayers, presence, service, witness, and gifts for paying for their school fees and food.
